Ventana’s Molecular Discovery Systems
The Technology - Discovery® XT System The Technology The Discovery XT system is a modular,
scalable, and multivalent system that supports multiple applications (IHC, ISH, and
microarray*). Up to eight
modules can be supported by one system control center, increasing throughtput capacity from one
slide to 240 slides per run. The basic system includes:
ThermoFlex Platform Individual
temperature-controlled ThermoPads allow precise target temperatures
ranging, from ambient to 95°C, enabling tightly controlled denaturation,
hybridization, and stringency conditions.
Air vortexing and patented Liquid Coverslip™ technology This
mixing technology, in combination with individual temperature controlled ThermoPads,
provides reproducible, consistent in situ hybridization.
Automated Fluidics Module (AFM) The AFM delivers bulk aqueous solutions precisely, such as buffers, stringency washes, de-waxing
(EZ PREP™), etc. The open architecture of the AFM provides flexibility
to accommodate future needs.
Modular system Modularity enables the user to add up to eight staining modules
as volumes increase, all under the control of a single computer.
This allows customization
of the Discovery XT system to handle low-, medium-, and high-throughput needs.
Patented microdelivery reagent dispense system Discovery XT system provides the flexibility to utilize a
precise reagent delivery system, which dispenses 100µl of probe or
any required reagent, thereby providing flexibility for optimum application
development.
Total inventory and liquid level sense control This feature minimizes intervention and daily preparation times.
It enhances the research laboratory productivity and eliminates costly errors
in bulk fluid preparation.
Quality control features built into the software These features save time and provide the ability for total
process control when using the Discovery XT system.
Electronic reagent registration All reagents are electronically
registered by the system control center using data buttons, which saves time by eliminating
manual
entry and tedious paperwork. All pertinent information about the reagents is automatically
input and tracked by the computer.
Bar code technology for slides Barcodes on the slide act as "recipes" that instruct
the computer as to the exact reagents and protocols to be applied to each
slide. This saves time, increases productivity, and eliminates the need for daily programming.
Horizontal kinetic system for in situ hybridization Ventana's patented horizontal kinetic technology enhances in situ hybridization
kinetics for many different research applications.
Discovery XT NexES® Software The software's flexibilty allows complete control of protocols.
Users may employ multiple probe configurations (oglionucleotide, riboprobe, cDNA) on each of the 30 different slides with user inputs for
temperatures, times, and stringency washes.
